This market is a collaboration between Màn Màn Market and (Realfood) Evening organic farmers market, holding for the 2nd time now to make the event bigger with more man power. (D2E) Down to Earth = Grounded people producing honest food. D2E is founded with the same ocjectives of Màn Màn Market and (Realfood) Evening organic farmers market, direct producer to consumer relationship, small scale organically grown farmers, heathy life style, healthy mentality, creative attitude & empowering talents. We are very honoured to have Callie Tai, CEO of Justlife to come and give a sharing on vegetables fermentation, the best part I saw about this demonstration is farmers participating from start to end of her demo to learn about fermenting veggies, that way farmers now can learn a new way to value add their products and reducing wastage of good honest veggies. Mr Lee, giving his 8 years farming story concentrated in 30mins. Personally farming is never easy, especially when we are in the 1st line of facing what nature brings us. Human have lost touch with nature for way too long and many have the mind cept thinking that we are separated from nature. It is only when we step a firm foot into natures' way of food producing then we realise how ignorant we are and we can be. Hand-made soap that is free from additives is the best soap and the only soap that you should use. Above is Annie Wong, our host for the event introducing her homemade, handmade soap. Artistic performance by local artist Rosalyn painting turmeric on organic cotton & Fang Tze Lun soloing on a Chinese harp. Such performance is definitely feeding the mind and soul. Theartistic side of nature is not to be left out when it comes to this farmers market. after all, beauty is created by nature long before human. YB PHEE BOON POH (EXCO) giving us a big speech of how organic lifestyle is the future and should be supported as a opening speech. Cooking demo from Slow Food chef, Mathijs Nanne is a big supporter of local small scale organic farmers. He is also currently the executive chef of Suffolk House. Mathijs is no stranger to the local herbs and sipces and combines European cooking techniques with the vibrant colors that penang has to offer. He is a strong believer of using locally sourced food. Oh yes, Wonder Wilderfarm is also a vendor of D2E market, I must admit, it was tough running around the logistics of the event and tending to a booth space, We have many many thanks to our friends who volunteered to tend to our booth when both me and Meishy is not able to be there. Farm2plate malaysia is always doing something interactive with the kids and hands on experiences is essential to education! GO sushi rolling! Akane!
